Ah! Summer’s here. And what else would be a great way to start this season than going to the beach and enjoying the sun and sand? Okay, so not everyone can do that immediately. But, that doesn’t mean you should mope in your cubicle while listening to Rupert Holmes’ Escape (also known as the Pina Colada Song), right?
You could, instead, be in your cubicle while you listen to Rupert Holmes’ Escape and have these five hot items perfect for summer.
A great tie
Ties work with everything – meetings, parties, and even that trip to the nearby coffee house when you’re super stressed on a Monday afternoon. It looks great on pants and even in shorts. But this summer, ditch the somber blacks and dark browns. In fact, ditch those completely. Go for fun but low-key prints instead.
The basic polo shirt
The great thing about this apparel is that it’s casual but it can be worn to work because it has collars. The best would always be the traditional white one from Lacoste. But navy is a great shade too. Actually, get one now and keep that in your wardrobe because that’s a basic must-have. A plain polo shirt is always the safest wardrobe no matter what the season or occasion is. It is considered a must-have in your closet as it can fit with any pants or jacket.
White jeans
Mixing men and white jeans once seemed to be a complete impossibility. But for the nth time, it’s not. You just need to know what shirt and shoes to pair it with. White jeans are not common to many, maybe because it exhibits the medical niche or it attracts dirt and stain. Gone are the days when blue jeans are the only trend. Wearing white jeans today is like taking away the fear in fashion. So, bring out that style guru in you and give justice to white jeans.
Chambray is a great start. Light blue ones, whether it’s plain or checkered, work so well with white or off white denim. Gray is great too. If you’re a bit audacious, go for salmon or coral. When it comes to footwear, it’s best to go for different shades of brown and gray deck shoes. Black is a no-no so don’t even try it at home.
Vans slip on
You know what would be great for those white jeans? A pair of Vans slip-ons (reminder again: as long as it’s not black). The great thing about this is that it is so easy to wear with anything and is so comfortable. Not a fan of Vans? Converse’s Chuck Taylors will do just as well.
Hip Sunglasses
It’s summer. Of course, you need sunglasses. Just remember that it should suit the shape of your face. One important tip, though, which should be known to all by now but it doesn’t hurt to remind you all: Never wear sunglasses while you’re indoors. That’s really douche-y.
