Cameron Brink Injury Recovery Update: Will the Sparks Star Play Tonight Against Chicago Sky?
Cameron Brink continues her recovery from an ACL injury, but her return timeline to the Sparks remains uncertain.

Cameron Brink remains sidelined as the LA Sparks prepare to face the Chicago Sky on Sunday in their opening matchup of the 2025 WNBA season. Brink has not played since suffering a season-ending left ACL tear in June 2024 during her rookie year. Although she is anticipated to return this season, the Sparks have not provided an official timeline for her comeback.

Without Brink, the Sparks started the season with a win but then dropped three consecutive games, entering the Sunday contest with a 1-3 record. Meanwhile, the Chicago Sky seek to secure their first victory after a 0-2 start. The game is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and will be broadcast locally on The U and SportsNet LA.

Cameron Brink Shares Insights on Her ACL Injury Rehabilitation

Before the 2025 WNBA season began, Cameron Brink discussed her recovery from the ACL injury on her podcast Straight to Cam. She described the difficulty of gradually returning to full physical activity after her surgery.

“Honestly, like, it’s been a whirlwind. But I feel like now people don’t talk about it as much,” Brink said. “This is the hardest part for me because I’m just finally starting to do the jumping, the running, and the cutting slightly.”

Brink explained that she is essentially relearning how to play, having to rebuild her endurance and skills to regain the level she had before getting hurt.

“I went on a run the other day, running for four minutes and then walking for one minute. When I tell you, I’ve never been so gassed in my life!” Brink said. “I’m not an athlete right now. The same thing with shooting—I’m not making shots; I feel like I’m just having to relearn everything.”

Brink’s Rookie Season Performance and Sparks’ Prospects Moving Forward

During her rookie campaign, Cameron Brink averaged 7.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.1 steals, and 2.3 blocks per game. Standing 6-foot-4, she shot 39.8% from the field overall and 32.3% from three-point range across 15 games before her injury.

The LA Sparks ended the 2024 season with an 8-32 record, marking their worst performance in franchise history. However, with Brink expected to return to full health and the addition of veteran guard Kelsey Plum over the offseason, the team aims to improve significantly this year and break their four-year absence from the playoffs.
