Odell Beckham Jr.’s NFL Career in Crisis as Team Interest Plummets, Retirement Rumors Intensify at 32
Odell Beckham Jr. faces retirement rumors as he remains a free agent after a challenging NFL season.

Odell Beckham Jr., once a highly regarded wide receiver coming out of LSU and selected 12th overall by the New York Giants in the 2014 NFL draft, appears to be approaching the final chapter of his NFL career. After achieving his only Super Bowl victory with the Los Angeles Rams in the 2021 season, Beckham’s trajectory has since faltered.

In May 2024, Beckham signed a one-year contract with the Miami Dolphins but managed to participate in only nine games post-injury recovery. During this time, he caught nine passes for 55 yards before the Dolphins released him in December. Currently a free agent, no NFL team has expressed interest in signing him, fueling speculation about his future in football. According to NFL Rumors, the wide receiver, a three-time Pro Bowler, may be considering retirement after a decade in the league.

Highlights of Beckham’s Recent NFL Performance

Beckham’s final notable NFL contributions occurred during the Rams’ 2021 Super Bowl LVI winning season. After the Cleveland Browns released him in November 2021, Beckham joined the Rams and appeared in eight regular-season games, achieving 305 receiving yards and five touchdowns. Despite these solid numbers, sustaining such production has proven difficult in recent seasons.

Beckham Shares His Personal Outlook Amid Career Questions

Recently, Beckham shared a candid update on Instagram that revealed his current mindset away from the field. The post featured moments with his son alongside a photo with three-time Super Bowl winner Patrick Mahomes. Beckham described his focus on eliminating negativity and pursuing what brings him true happiness at this stage of life.

“Where I’m at in my life…Hmmmm….I’m really doin what makes my SOUL happy,” Beckham wrote. “We all got different paths, but on the same journey, n that’s to find true happiness in this lifetime whatever that may be for you. Fxckk the bullshxt and everythin else in between…Love on the ones who love u while we still here…The Code.”
