Both Mike Perry and Sean Strickland have forged reputations based on their aggressive fighting styles and relentless determination. Perry, a major figure in Bare Knuckle FC, has maintained an undefeated streak since transitioning from MMA in 2021, defeating former UFC champions such as Luke Rockhold and Eddie Alvarez along the way. Strickland remains active in the UFC, known for his straightforward personality and persistent pressure inside the cage.

Recently, Perry shared a video showing the two exchanging blows during a demanding five-minute sparring round. Strickland reposted the footage with admiration, writing “Man an absolute tank,” and commented,

This display differed from other viral sparring videos involving Strickland, as it featured two experienced athletes pushing their limits with mutual respect rather than one-sided domination.

Since his loss to Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 312, Strickland has been absent from the Octagon. While discussions about a potential rematch with Israel Adesanya have surfaced, the UFC has not officially scheduled the fight. Meanwhile, Perry has seen limited action since knocking out Thiago Alves in April 2024 in BKFC and recently suffered a short-notice boxing defeat to Jake Paul.

Sean Strickland Offers Insight on Upcoming UFC 319 Middleweight Championship

With the UFC 319 middleweight title fight approaching, Strickland shared his perspective on the clash between champion Dricus Du Plessis and undefeated contender Khamzat Chimaev. Having faced Du Plessis twice and trained alongside Chimaev, Strickland possesses a unique understanding of both fighters’ strengths.

Speaking with Helen Yee, Strickland emphasized the grappling aspect of the match,

I just don’t know if Dricus can counter-wrestle him. But if he can, I think he wins, hands down. I sparred the f**ing Chechen wh**e. Hands down, I think Dricus wins.

He believes Du Plessis’ ability to defend against Chimaev’s takedown pressure will be critical to the outcome.

Looking ahead, Strickland expressed interest in a matchup with former welterweight champion Belal Muhammad. Although he is open to a rematch with Israel Adesanya, Strickland stated he is not actively pursuing it unless an official offer arises.
