Drake London Poised for Breakout Season as Falcons’ Offense Eyes Major 2025 Surge
Drake London poised for a breakout season with Falcons offense, showcasing talent alongside dynamic rookie QB Michael Penix Jr.

The Atlanta Falcons are preparing for a significant offensive boost in the upcoming season, focusing on improving their pass rush and expanding involvement of various players in their offense. The running back position is robust, featuring Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier sharing the workload as reliable primary backs. Meanwhile, tight end Kyle Pitts is expected to see an increase in targets as he enters the final year of his rookie contract, motivating a strong performance to secure his future with the Falcons or elsewhere.

Drake London’s Role as a Cornerstone Receiver Grows

Wide receiver Drake London stands out as a crucial figure expected to have a career-defining season. In his rookie year, London was targeted 117 times, making 72 receptions and scoring four touchdowns in 2022. Although inconsistent quarterback play hampered his progress in 2023, he still managed 110 targets and 69 catches. Last season’s performance notably improved with 158 targets, 100 receptions, and nine touchdowns, culminating in his first 1,000-yard receiving season with 1,271 yards.

Quarterback Transition Could Elevate London’s Numbers

Michael Penix Jr. stepping into the starting quarterback role for the final three games after Kirk Cousins was benched showed promise for London’s connection with a young signal-caller. During those games, London secured 22 catches for 353 yards and two touchdowns. Penix’s growing comfort and reliance on London as a dependable receiving option should drive further offensive growth in the season ahead. London’s size and ability to outjump smaller defenders add to his value as a reliable target in key situations.
