This occasion follows his role as Grand Marshal in the 2025 Michigan City Patriotic Parade the same day.

The event, scheduled from 1 to 4:30 p.m., will feature various attractions including bounce houses, dunk tanks, food trucks, and raffles designed to entertain families and children alike. Michigan City students presenting a valid school ID will receive free backpacks and school supplies while supplies last. The event aims to engage multiple demographics within the community by combining recreational fun with practical support for the upcoming school year.
Fiske’s Vision for Strengthening Community Bonds
Braden Fiske shared his motivation behind the event, emphasizing its inclusivity for Michigan City families.
“That way it involves all the families, it involves the kids, it involves multiple demographics in the area of Michigan City,”
Fiske said. He also reaffirmed the school supply donation as a key part of the event, stating,
“And we’re still going to have a back-to-school drive, we’re donating backpacks and school supplies to the kids, while also having bounce houses, vendors and food trucks and everything you can think of for families to come out. Kind of like a get-together for the entire Michigan City.”
Fiske’s Journey from Michigan City to NFL Success
A native of Michigan City, Fiske was a standout at Michigan City High School before beginning his college football career at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. He later transferred to Florida State University and was selected 39th overall in the second round of the NFL Draft. In his rookie season with the Rams, he was one of five finalists for the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Award, leading his team with 8.5 sacks.

Reflecting on his roots, Fiske described Michigan City as the foundation of his life and career. He said, “It was everything” in shaping his journey. He also expressed enthusiasm for the community’s response to the event, noting the strong support from friends, family, and longtime acquaintances eager to contribute.
“I mean, that’s obviously where I grew up, that’s where I played football, that’s where the biggest foundations of my life were built, from youth league football and just going through middle school, high school, elementary school in that area. And I just have such a big support system back there. I mean, as soon as I put the event out, multiple people – just friends, family, people in the area that I haven’t talked to in years reaching out, wanting to be a part of it and wanting to help out. So I think that just speaks volumes to how close the city is, and just the impact I’ll be able to make when I go back. I think it’ll be huge.”
