George Pickens Stands Out at Cowboys OTAs with Supportive Gesture Toward CeeDee Lamb

Following the Dallas Cowboys’ absence from the 2024 NFL postseason, significant changes have shaped their offseason, especially involving key players CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. The focus on CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens Cowboys OTAs highlighted a moment of team unity during the voluntary practice sessions.

The Cowboys began their offseason adjustments with a major coaching shift, as owner Jerry Jones dismissed head coach Mike McCarthy after five seasons. Brian Schottenheimer, who had been the team’s offensive coordinator, was promoted to the head coaching position. Alongside this change, personnel moves included the retirement of All-Pro guard Zack Martin and a notable trade to strengthen the wide receiver corps by bringing in George Pickens.

On May 7, the Cowboys completed a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers, acquiring Pickens in exchange for a 2026 third-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick. This move aimed to pair Lamb and Pickens as a dynamic combination to boost Dallas’ offense.

At the Cowboys’ second day of organized team activities (OTAs) on a recent Thursday, both wide receivers were present for the voluntary practice. During a drill, CeeDee Lamb dropped a deep pass from quarterback Dak Prescott, leading him to do pushups as a form of self-accountability. Close by, Pickens joined Lamb in performing the pushups, demonstrating solidarity and support.
