Following the Eagles’ victory in Super Bowl LIX, tight end Dallas Goedert faced uncertainty about his future with the team, but that has since been settled. Goedert is now fully committed and enthusiastic about continuing to play a major role in the Eagles offense for the 2025 season.
Goedert expressed his excitement about returning to a familiar environment and being surrounded by teammates and coaches he respects.
“I’m excited that we were able to get something done and I could come back here to a place where I’m really comfortable and be with a lot of people that I’ve got a lot of love for, I’m glad to be back,”
Goedert said.
Contributions to Last Season’s Playoff Success
Throughout the Eagles’ playoff run last season, Goedert was a standout, finishing as the team’s top receiver with 17 catches totaling 215 yards and one memorable touchdown against Green Bay, known as the Stiff Arm Special. His versatility as a tackle-breaking receiver and effective in-line blocker made him a vital part of the offense that led Philadelphia to the championship.
As the team seeks to maintain its offensive momentum, Goedert’s ability to consistently perform both in the passing and running game carries significant strategic value. His chemistry with quarterback Jalen Hurts and understanding of the run game blocking schemes provide a dependable weapon for the Eagles’ offensive schemes.
Goals and Challenges for the Upcoming Season
Having been limited to 10 games in 2024 due to injuries, Goedert’s primary objective moving into 2025 is to stay healthy and on the field. He recognizes the importance of maintaining his multifaceted contributions to strengthen an Eagles offense that returns mostly intact, with only the right guard position remaining open from last season’s lineup.

Goedert said,
“I’m excited to see what happens this year, excited to put up a really good year, have a successful year with an incredible team. I’ll be the best player I can be, the best teammate I can be.”
The presence of a reliable tight end like Goedert creates matchup challenges for opposing defenses and was a key element in the Eagles posting record performances during the playoffs, including the 55 points scored against Washington in the NFC Championship Game and the 40 points registered in just over three quarters during the Super Bowl.
Outlook for the Eagles Offense with Goedert’s Continued Role
With Dallas Goedert now fully integrated and secure in his position, the Eagles coaching staff has a premier offensive weapon to build around as they prepare weekly game plans. His all-around skill set will be vital in sustaining the explosive offense that proved dominant in critical postseason moments.
Goedert remains motivated and focused on team success, emphasizing collective effort.
“It’s great to be here with this team and we’re all working hard for what is in front of us, that’s our focus and that’s all that matters,”
he said.
The upcoming season holds promise for both Goedert and the Eagles as they aim to replicate and exceed the success of their championship run, relying on key players like him to elevate their performance consistently.
