JC Latham transforms his offseason, shedding 33 pounds to prepare for the 2025 NFL season at right tackle.

NASHVILLE – JC Latham, the Tennessee Titans’ rookie offensive lineman, has undergone a significant offseason transformation by losing 33 pounds. This change is part of his effort to return stronger and faster as he shifts from left tackle to right tackle in the 2025 NFL season.

During his first year after being drafted in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, Latham was warned by teammates and coaches about managing his weight, but he paid little attention while feeling confident on the field. However, after struggling to meet his own standards, particularly in the latter portion of the season and during a challenging game against the Houston Texans, he decided to make fitness a priority in the offseason.

Reflection on Rookie Year Spurs Commitment to Fitness

Latham started all 17 games at left tackle throughout his rookie campaign but admitted he felt sluggish and heavier by the season’s end. He discussed his concerns with offensive line coach Bill Callahan, acknowledging the need to reach a higher standard of play that he believes he can attain.

“I felt a lot heavier, and slower (at the end of the year), and it was embarrassing for me,”

“So going into the offseason my biggest focus was to get into a lot better shape and lose a lot of weight.”

Looking Ahead to a Stronger Role on the Titans

Preparing for his new role on the right side of the offensive line, Latham’s dedication to conditioning is expected to improve his agility and endurance. The offseason effort signals his determination to elevate his game and meet the physical demands required by the Titans’ lineup in the upcoming season.

This weight loss and positional switch position Latham to potentially make a greater impact in 2025, addressing issues from his rookie year and aligning with the team’s goals for offensive line strength and stability.
