Brock Bowers shines in his standout rookie season with the Raiders, setting records and earning Pro Bowl honors.

The Las Vegas Raiders secured Georgia tight end Brock Bowers as the No. 13 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, and his standout rookie season quickly justified the selection. Bowers recorded 112 receptions for 1,194 yards and five touchdowns, making an immediate impact for the team.

In recognition of his performance, Bowers earned Pro Bowl honors and was named First-Team All-Pro, breaking multiple team and league records for a rookie tight end. His achievements have positioned him as one of the most promising tight ends currently in the NFL.

Greg Olsen Praises Bowers’ Unique Physical and Athletic Traits

Former NFL tight end Greg Olsen, a three-time Pro Bowler with two All-Pro distinctions, recently discussed Bowers’ exceptional abilities on Pardon My Take. Olsen highlighted Bowers’ unusual combination of size, speed, and skill, especially as demonstrated during his time in the SEC.

That is just unique, to be that tall, that long, super linear, in (the SEC), and you look like the fastest guy on the field,

Olsen said.

If he was able to come out of the draft after his second year, … He would have been a top 10 pick.

Olsen Comments on Bowers’ Fit Within the New Raiders Regime

Having previously played alongside head coach Pete Carroll and quarterback Geno Smith on the Seattle Seahawks in 2020, Olsen shared insights on what Raider fans can expect from Bowers as the team adapts to new leadership. He praised Bowers’ rare talent and foresaw a strong future for the young tight end.

I’ll be interested to see how that plays out now with the new regime and Pete Carroll. Geno loves his tight ends, but they are going to run the ball. … As far as just a talent, I think he’s the best tight end prospect to come out of the draft in the last 10-15 years. His rookie year matched it, if not exceeded it, which was pretty incredible.

Upcoming Season Kickoff and Expectations

Brock Bowers and the Raiders will begin the 2025 NFL season on the road, facing the New England Patriots on Sunday, September 7. After his impressive rookie campaign, Bowers is expected to be a central figure in the Raiders’ offense as they look to build momentum under their new coaching staff.
