Coco Gauff, the rising star of women’s tennis, was spotted taking a break from the French Open with her parents and ATP tour friend Christopher Eubanks. The WTA player used this moment away from the court to recharge during her demanding tournament schedule in Paris.
Gauff’s strong performance at Roland Garros has seen her win her first four matches in straight sets against Olivia Gadecki, Tereza Valentova, Marie Bouzkova, and 20th seed Ekaterina Alexandrova. These victories secured her a place in the quarterfinals, where she is set to face fellow American Madison Keys on Wednesday, June 4.
The family outing also included Christopher Eubanks, a former Wimbledon quarterfinalist, who accompanied them to an escape room. Gauff humorously labeled Eubanks as the “LVP” (least valuable player) of the group and invited his girlfriend, Anna Mitchell, to join their next adventure.
“My mom didn’t like the other photo oops lol,” Gauff wrote.
Gauff’s parents, Candi and Cori, continue to be a steady presence in her career, frequently supporting her at international tournaments.
Coco Gauff Aims for Third French Open Semifinal
Though Gauff has already won the US Open, Roland Garros remains her most successful Grand Slam tournament. Prior to this year’s event, she held a 20-4 win-loss record in Paris with an 80 percent winning rate. She made her first Major final here in 2022 after beating Daria Kasatkina, eventually losing to Iga Swiatek in the final.
Last year, Gauff reached the semifinals again by defeating players such as Dayana Yastremska, Elisabetta Cocciaretto, and Ons Jabeur. However, she was stopped by Swiatek in straight sets, 2-6, 4-6, in a one-sided semifinal match.
This year, Gauff hopes to extend her success at Roland Garros by winning against Madison Keys to reach the semifinals for a third time. The two Americans have met five times before, with Keys leading their head-to-head 3-2. Gauff last faced Keys at the Madrid Open last year, where she was defeated.
