Tommy Paul will miss the 2025 Queen’s Club Championships, a major preparatory event for Wimbledon, resulting in the loss of 500 ranking points he earned from last year’s title. The American’s withdrawal comes as a surprise to fans and analysts, coinciding with another notable absence: Lorenzo Musetti, the previous year’s runner-up, will also not participate in this ATP 500 tournament in London.
Reviewing Paul’s 2024 Success and Current Health Struggles
Last year, Tommy Paul enjoyed a standout season by capturing three ATP titles: the Dallas Open, the Queen’s Club Championships, and the Stockholm Open. His grass-court performances were particularly impressive, reaching the quarterfinals at both the Libema Open and Wimbledon. The highlight, however, was his dominant run at the Queen’s Club, where he won the tournament without dropping a set, save for a challenging quarterfinal against Jack Draper.
Throughout that Queen’s Club event, Paul convincingly defeated Sebastián Báez, Alejandro Tabilo, and Draper to reach the semifinals, then defeated fellow American Sebastian Korda to advance to the final. There, he overcame Lorenzo Musetti with relative ease to claim the prestigious ATP 500 crown.
This year, however, Paul’s momentum has been stalled by physical setbacks. After his second-round win over Márton Fucsovics at the 2025 French Open, Paul has been battling abdominal and adductor pain. Despite this, he pushed through to the quarterfinals before succumbing to Carlos Alcaraz.

Unlike in previous years, Paul has yet to start his grass-court season, which typically begins at s-Hertogenbosch before moving onto London. It remains unclear if the injuries sustained at Roland Garros have played a major role in his current absence from key events.
Additional Withdrawals Shake Up Queen’s Club Championship Lineup
The Queen’s Club Championships will see several other high-profile withdrawals alongside Tommy Paul and Lorenzo Musetti. Matteo Berrettini, Tallon Griekspoor, and Quentin Halys have also confirmed they will miss the tournament. Conversely, players such as Alexander Bublik, Ugo Carabelli, and Jenson Brooksby have been added to the lineup, with the next entrant being Diallo.
Lorenzo Musetti’s season remains uncertain as he recently retired in the fourth set of his French Open semifinal match due to a left thigh problem. On June 12, reports confirmed that Musetti suffered a Grade 1 adductor injury, further clouding his chances to compete on grass.
Tommy Paul’s 2025 Title Drought Continues
Tommy Paul has not yet secured a title in the 2025 season, and his absence at Queen’s prolongs that streak. Despite this, he has showcased resilience with deep tournament runs, including semifinals appearances in Adelaide, Dallas, Houston, and Rome.
He has also attained quarterfinal berths at the Australian Open and French Open, compiling a strong 25–9 win-loss record this year. Whether Paul will recover in time to compete at Wimbledon and build on this form remains to be seen, as the tennis community awaits updates on his health and schedule.
