Tommy Paul’s girlfriend, Paige Lorenze, responded with humor to an online troll’s comment following the American tennis star’s withdrawal from this year’s Queen’s Club Championships due to abdominal pain and an adductor injury. As World No. 8, Paul was unable to defend his title, which could affect his ATP ranking.
Lorenze, an influencer and entrepreneur dating Paul since 2022, balances her professional ventures while supporting him courtside during matches. Her witty comeback on social media surfaced after a troll blamed her for Paul’s withdrawal by referencing a photo from last year’s Queen’s Club victory, where Paul was seen holding his neck in celebration.
The troll posted:
“Tommy Paul on withdrawing from Queens Club: “My neck still hurts from last year.””
Lorenze replied sarcastically:
“Can’t a girl just be supportive… of her man’s neck”
Paul’s decision to pull out is expected to impact his ATP ranking, potentially causing him to fall out of the top 10 as players like Holger Rune or Alex de Minaur close the gap. Despite this setback, the couple maintains a strong and positive relationship, providing Paul with support beyond the court.
Inside Tommy Paul and Paige Lorenze’s Personal Dynamics
Earlier this year, Paul admitted that tennis remains a sensitive topic within his relationship with Lorenze. Despite her interest and skill in the sport, Paul confessed that he sometimes avoids playing tennis with her due to feeling lazy, causing minor friction between them.
Speaking to People, Paul said:
“I’m going to get in trouble for this because I always tell her that I’ll go out and play tennis with her, and then I always get lazy when it’s my time to wind down and I never end up going out with her on the court. It’s a sore subject.”
Nevertheless, Paul expressed admiration for Lorenze’s abilities on the tennis court, appreciating her technique and knowledge of the game.
“I’m not going to lie, I’m pretty impressed. She plays pretty good, she has the strokes down. She knows what she’s doing on the court,” he added.
At 28 years old, Tommy Paul is targeting a full recovery before Wimbledon, where maintaining peak physical condition will be critical for his performance.
