Taylor Townsend has continued to impress in professional tennis despite a challenging showing at the recent French Open, where she did not claim a trophy. Ranked No. 2 in the WTA doubles rankings, Townsend remains a dominant force alongside her partner Katerina Siniakova, who holds the No. 1 spot.
At the French Open, Townsend reached the mixed doubles final with Evan King but was defeated 4-6, 2-6 by third seeds Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori. In women’s doubles, Townsend and Siniakova, the top seeds, were stunned in the quarterfinals by Anna Danilina and Aleksandra Krunic.
Despite these setbacks, Townsend celebrated her recent milestones on Instagram, highlighting her impressive trophies won after becoming a mother. She gave birth to her son, Adyn Aubrey, in March 2021, yet has secured two Major doubles titles since then, including victories at Wimbledon 2024 and Melbourne 2025. Additionally, she secured two WTA 1000 championships in Cincinnati 2024 and Dubai 2025.
Support from Fellow Champions Gauff and Osaka
Townsend’s social media post received encouraging responses from Grand Slam winners Coco Gauff and Naomi Osaka, reflecting mutual respect among these champions. Townsend posted:
“These are all the trophies I’ve won since coming back from having AJ(I’m missing 3 from this year)! Never forget all you have been through to get to where you are! I’m HER!! Keep going. Keep pushing. Keep believing. Keep knowing who you are!” —Taylor Townsend
Coco Gauff, fresh off her exceptional French Open triumph, replied succinctly with:
“Harddd” —Coco Gauff
Naomi Osaka, a four-time Major champion and former World No. 1 from Japan, also expressed support with a simple, emphatic:
“OKAY” —Naomi Osaka
Time with Family During Injury and Continuing Ambitions
In March 2025, Townsend suffered an injury during the Miami tournament, which allowed her to spend valuable time at home with her son Adyn Aubrey. Prior to resuming competition, she shared a heartfelt message on Instagram:
“ADYN, I am so proud of you. These last two months with you has been so fullfiling and incredible. Always remember… No matter how faraway I am, I am Always with you! I love you to the moon, Stars, and above Love, Mommy.” —Taylor Townsend
Townsend and her partner Siniakova enter Wimbledon as defending champions after beating Gabriela Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe last year in a closely contested final, 7-6(5), 7-6(1). Townsend looks poised to further enhance her post-maternity trophy collection on one of tennis’s biggest stages in England.
