Kevin Durant’s 2025 Trade Wishlist Revealed: Heat, Spurs, Rockets Top Preferred Destination Choices
Kevin Durant's top 2025 trade destinations include the Miami Heat, Spurs, and Rockets, as reported by ESPN.

As the Phoenix Suns prepare to move Kevin Durant, his preferred trade destinations for 2025 have started to come into focus, with the Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, and Houston Rockets emerging as the top choices, according to ESPN. Durant has expressed willingness to commit to these three franchises for the long term, aligning with his plans for the next stage of his career.

Contract Status and Team Plans

Durant is entering the final year of his existing contract, under which he will earn $54.7 million during the 2025-26 season. Despite his preferences, the Suns have made it clear that any trade they pursue will prioritize the team’s future success over Durant’s favored destinations. The Minnesota Timberwolves are also reportedly interested and expected to be part of trade discussions.

Durant’s Recent Performance and Career Highlights

At 36 years old, turning 37 in September, Durant appeared in 62 games for Phoenix during the 2024-25 season, averaging 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game. His shooting from beyond the arc was strong, making 43.0 percent of three-point attempts, which remains close to his career averages.

Throughout his career, Durant has been selected to the All-NBA first team six times and has played 1,123 NBA games. His career spans stints with the Seattle SuperSonics/Oklahoma City Thunder (2007-16), Golden State Warriors (2016-19), Brooklyn Nets (2020-23), and the Suns. His overall stats include averages of 27.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.1 blocks per game while shooting 39 percent from three-point range.

Future Contract Possibilities and Team Outlook

Once the new NBA league year begins on July 6, Durant will become eligible to sign a two-year extension worth up to $122 million. The Suns, meanwhile, experienced a disappointing 36-46 record in the 2024-25 season, missing the playoffs and firing head coach Mike Budenholzer after just one year at the helm.
