Madison Keys Shares Wild Story of Getting Lost at Beyonce’s Concert During Her First Visit
Madison Keys' first Beyonce concert: a lost adventure filled with laughter and unforgettable moments!

American tennis player Madison Keys recently recounted her unforgettable experience attending a Beyonce concert for the first time. She described the adventure of getting lost while trying to reach the venue, sharing details during a post-match interview following the Queens Club Championships.

Keys was competing at the Queens Club Championships, where she was stopped in the semifinals by Tatjana Maria, who secured her place in the final with a 6-3, 7-6(3) victory. It was amid this competitive period that Keys talked openly about her concert visit.

Madison Keys Recalls Her First-Time Beyonce Concert Experience

During a press conference held ahead of her semifinal match, Keys revealed how she seized the opportunity to attend Beyonce’s concert. She explained that while traveling by train from Paris to London, her friend Laura encouraged her to go. Taking the advice instantly, Keys bought tickets on the train. She described her time at the concert as absolutely amazing and incredibly fun.

“That was amazing. I have actually never seen Beyonce. So I was on the train from Paris to here, and I was texting Laura, and she was, like, Oh, you should come to Beyonce tonight. So I immediately, on the train, was buying tickets. It was absolutely amazing. It was so fun,” said Madison Keys.

Keys also noted that concerts in London have a distinct energy compared to others she has attended. She spoke about the crowd’s extravagant outfits and shared a humorous moment about getting lost while trying to find the venue. She followed the signals of cowboy boots and hats, realizing many people were headed to the same place.

“I feel like concerts here are always so much more fun. Everyone puts so much more effort in, like the outfits were phenomenal. We got a little bit lost. I was laughing, because I was, like, Follow the cowboy boots and the hats. I’ve never seen them in London. We’re all going to the same place.”

Shortly after her loss at the Queens Club, Keys posted a series of pictures from the concert on Instagram, captioning them: “Queen B and Queen’s Club.”

Adjusting Quickly: Keys on Moving from Clay to Grass Courts

In the same press conference, Keys discussed the rapid adjustment required when switching from clay courts to grass surfaces during the tennis season. She described the transition as one of the fastest she had experienced in years, moving from a match on Wednesday to practicing on grass by Friday.

“It was a very quick transition. Played on whatever day, Wednesday, traveled Thursday, was hitting on grass on Friday. It’s probably the quickest that I have switched surfaces in a really long time, but really happy to be in Queen’s.”

Keys expressed enthusiasm about playing at the Queens Club, calling it a tournament she had always wanted to compete in. She acknowledged the challenge posed by the event’s high level and the brief grass-court season for women.

“When it came on the schedule, it was a place that I always really wanted to play. So just kind of made sense. The fact that it’s a pretty high-level 500 right away is definitely a bit of a challenge, but the grass season on the women’s side is always so tough.”

Keys’ Continued Success and Upcoming Matches

Madison Keys began the 2025 tennis season impressively, winning consecutive titles at the Adelaide International against Jessica Pegula and at the Australian Open by defeating Aryna Sabalenka. Following her performance at Queens, she is set to compete in the Grass Court Championships in Berlin, facing Marketa Vondrousova on June 17, 2025.

Her vibrant personality and ability to embrace new experiences, like her memorable first time attending a Beyonce concert, reflect the energy and passion she brings both on and off the court. These qualities, combined with her rapid adaptation to different playing surfaces, suggest an exciting path forward for Keys as the season progresses.
