Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark made a memorable return to the court after a five-game injury absence during a matchup against the New York Liberty. Alongside her performance, Clark showcased a unique pair of custom Nike Kobe 6 Proto Player Editions sneakers, highlighting her personal connection to the design. This custom Nike Kobe sneaker design featured a tribute to her childhood dog, making the shoes especially meaningful for Clark, who is 23 years old.
The sneakers, named The Bellas, were crafted in a beige and tan colorway, with a vibrant pink tongue that prominently displayed Kobe Bryant’s logo. The sides of the shoes featured the Nike swoosh in a bold yellow, while cream-colored laces complemented the overall light tones of the design. Clark’s affection for the shoes was clear when she spoke about them ahead of Indiana’s game against the Connecticut Sun at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Honestly, Nike asked me kind of what I want to do with some of the copies that I wear throughout the season, and my dog is really important to me,
Clark explained.
It’s my childhood dog that I grew up with.
She also described the shoe’s design elements connected to her pet, sharing,
The shoe was basically all golden. And then obviously the tongue of the shoe was pink for a Golden Retriever or any dog, really. But, um, and then on the sock liner, my shoe had a picture of my dog.

Clarifying further, Clark emphasized that the image inside the shoe was not just any generic graphic.
A lot of my teammates thought it was like some random graphic I found on the internet, but it was actually my dog,
she said.
But yeah, they were cute and you know, it kind of makes it fun when they’re a little more personal to you and it makes it fun to get to put them on and go out and play in them.
There has been no official word from Nike regarding whether The Bellas will be made available for public release, but fans eagerly anticipate Clark’s first signature shoe. Despite her rising profile in the WNBA, no major updates on a signature sneaker from her partnership with Nike have been announced recently.
