During the concert at Empower Field at Mile High on Sunday, June 15, Jelly Roll was seen holding MacKinnon’s number 29 jersey. The rapper autographed the jersey with the message, “keep lifting everyone up.” MacKinnon responded with a concise two-word caption on his Instagram story: “Awesome show.” His enthusiasm made it clear that meeting Jelly Roll was a memorable experience.
This concert was part of Post Malone’s Big A** Stadium Tour, which also featured performances by Wyatt Flores and Chandler Walters. The event was energetic, with fireworks lighting up the night, and included Post Malone performing tracks from his latest album, F-1 Trillion. Looking ahead, MacKinnon is set to represent Team Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy, scheduled for February. He delivered an impressive 2024–25 season, scoring 32 goals and assisting 84 times for a total of 116 points over 79 games. This marks his third consecutive season with 100 or more points.
In the playoffs, despite the Avalanche’s first-round exit, MacKinnon led his team by tallying four goals and seven assists across seven games. He also played a crucial role in Canada’s victory at the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off tournament, scoring four goals in four games and earning the MVP award.

Speaking at the World Championship earlier this year, he praised San Jose Sharks forward Macklin Celebrini for his mental maturity and talent, noting the forward’s advanced development compared to his own at the same age.
“He’s a pro. He is miles ahead of where I was at 18, mentally…,” MacKinnon said, in early May. ” He’s a great kid… I think with a good first half he’s going to have a really good chance at the Olympic team. Really impressed with him.
As MacKinnon approaches his 30th birthday by the time of the Olympics, he carries experience from past international competitions, having won both gold and silver medals at previous World Championships. His determination and performance continue to make him a key player for both the Colorado Avalanche and Team Canada.
