Caitlin Clark honors Steph Curry with a 3-pointer shout-out before the Fever's game at the Chase Center.

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever faced the Golden State Valkyries on Thursday at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California. Ahead of the game, Clark honored Steph Curry, the Golden State Warriors’ legendary sharpshooter, with a memorable three-point shot during warmups.

Since the Warriors play their home games at the Chase Center, it was fitting for Clark to acknowledge Curry’s impact on basketball. After Indiana’s shootaround, Clark called out “Curry” as she nailed a 3-pointer, a moment reported by Kendra Andrews of ESPN.

Clark’s Impressive Season and Team Performance

Steph Curry is the NBA’s all-time leader in made three-pointers, a record that cements his legacy. Clark, in her young WNBA season with the Fever, has been outstanding as well, appearing in six games so far. She is averaging 21.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 8.7 assists per game. Her shooting percentages include 44.7% from the floor, 40.0% from beyond the arc, and 75.9% from the free-throw line.

Since returning from a left quad injury, Clark has helped the Fever secure two wins against the New York Liberty and the Connecticut Sun, improving the team’s current record to 6-5.

Fever Secure Spot in Commissioner’s Cup Final

The Fever recently clinched a place in the Commissioner’s Cup championship after an 88-71 home victory over the Sun on Tuesday. Indiana will face the Minnesota Lynx in the upcoming championship game. Last season marked Indiana’s first playoff appearance since 2016, signaling steady progress for the team.

Clark expressed her excitement about the achievement, stating,

“Obviously, we’re excited. It’s a big deal,”

adding,

“It’s a hard thing to do, and why wouldn’t we celebrate that? We’re getting to play for a pool of money — that’s pretty fun — and you’re competing to win a trophy. It’s an extra game for us to get better, as well.”

Golden State Valkyries’ First WNBA Season
