In addition to his offensive improvement, Edstrom stood out for his physicality, ranking third on the Rangers with 94 hits before a lower body injury ended his season on February 1. At that point, his 94 hits were the fourth-highest among NHL rookies for the season, underscoring his toughness and aggressive style of play.

Before the 2024-25 season began, Edstrom was awarded the Lars-Erik Sjoberg Award, which is given annually to the most impressive Rangers rookie in training camp as selected by the media.
