George Kittle Spends $200K Annually on NFL Body Care to Stay Game-Ready and Injury-Free
George Kittle invests in NFL body care, prioritizing health and recovery throughout his successful career with the 49ers.

George Kittle, the San Francisco 49ers tight end, has developed a rigorous body care routine throughout his eight-year NFL career to remain in peak condition. Committed to maintaining his health and avoiding injuries, Kittle invests heavily in treatments and therapies, spending up to $200,000 each season to stay game-ready and protect his long-term well-being.

Kittle shared insights about his health regimen during a recent interview on Bussing With The Boys, emphasizing how his approach changed after suffering a broken foot and several injuries during the 2020 season. Since then, he has focused on advanced recovery methods, including stem cell treatments, to enhance his physical resilience.

“That’s why I dove so heavy into stem cells,” he said. “I do a brain scan once a year… everything’s good, happy to report.

“I try my best to stay on top of it as much as I possibly can… Am I worried about it? At some point, it’s going to affect us, but just try to get ahead of it as best I can.”

Kittle also revealed the financial commitment required for his body maintenance, detailing that his in-season spending ranges between $150,000 and $200,000, with total lifetime expenses possibly reaching $250,000. These investments cover a wide range of therapies and equipment aimed at preventing injuries and managing wear and tear from such a physically demanding sport.

“In-season, anywhere from $150,000 to $200,000,” Kittle revealed. “Per season, especially like the last three years at least. Total, with everything I’ve bought too… Call $250K at the most, because I got a lot of things I bought and I don’t have to pay for them anymore.”

Coming off a standout season, Kittle recorded 78 receptions for 1,106 yards and eight touchdowns in just 15 games. In April, the 49ers rewarded him with a four-year, $76.4 million contract extension, underscoring both his value and the importance of staying healthy for upcoming seasons.

Insights on Robert Saleh’s Return to 49ers Defense

Looking ahead, Kittle expressed optimism about the San Francisco defense under the renewed leadership of Robert Saleh, who returned as defensive coordinator after previously leaving to coach the New York Jets. Kittle praised Saleh’s strategic prowess and motivational style, sending a strong message to opponents about the challenge the 49ers defense will pose.

“He’s really good at his job,” Kittle said. “I’m really excited that we somehow convinced him to be our defensive coordinator again because he knows what he’s talking about, he’s inspiring, he gets the boys fired up, and he just happens to also be really, really smart.

“So, I’m pumped to have him back in the building, just hanging out with him a little bit, talking about stuff. You can just tell he’s ready to roll this year, and he’s gonna get the boys fired up. Violence is coming, I would say.”

After a challenging 6-11 record in the previous season, the 49ers are aiming higher despite the increasingly competitive environment faced by George Kittle, Brock Purdy, and the rest of the team. Saleh’s return may provide a pivotal boost as they look to strengthen both sides of the ball.

The Importance of Proactive Body Care for NFL Longevity

George Kittle’s commitment to his NFL body care exemplifies the growing trend among elite athletes to adopt comprehensive, science-driven recovery and maintenance practices. His significant financial and personal investment underscores how crucial managing injuries and preserving health has become, especially for players aiming to sustain long careers in a sport known for its physical toll.

By proactively engaging in therapies such as stem cell treatment and annual brain scans, Kittle not only addresses current physical needs but also prepares for potential future impacts of the game. This approach may influence younger players and peers to prioritize long-term health as they navigate their NFL careers.

With Kittle entering the next phase of his career equipped with advanced body care knowledge and a lucrative contract, the 49ers can count on his presence on the field. His attitude toward health and recovery will likely be a key factor in extending his effectiveness and leadership in the seasons to come.
