Kyle Busch Encourages Greater Variety in NASCAR’s Race Locations
Reflecting on his career experience at numerous race venues, Busch expressed support for NASCAR’s initiative to add new tracks to the schedule to increase geographic diversity. He highlighted that while certain regions with multiple events tend to attract the same audiences repeatedly, expanding to new areas would draw fresh fans and build wider interest.
“I think the schedule having variation is really cool. I think that’s great. I think it gives you a little bit more diversity within your fan base in the areas of the country that you can go races, as long as you can kind of spread it around a little bit, like if you go run Charlotte, Rockingham, Darlington, and North Wilkesboro, all within a two-month span. You’re recruiting the same people, right? So, but going to Mexico is obviously new people.” —Kyle Busch, Driver
Busch further mentioned that reopening former tracks or exploring new locations would be beneficial for the sport’s growth.

“You know, being able to go back to Chicagoland, maybe, if that’s on the table, that would be cool. San Diego would be cool. I know we’ve picked up some new fans and some different areas of the different trades racetracks that we’ve gone to, so let’s keep it going,” he concluded.
Challenges Faced at Pocono Raceway Reflect Ongoing Season Difficulties
Recently, Busch encountered difficulties during the Great American Getaway 400 Presented by VISITPA.COM at Pocono Raceway on June 22, 2025. Qualifying 26th, he finished the race in 20th place, accumulating 17 points but struggling through a significant incident.
During the race, Busch spun in turn 2 while competing for 24th place, causing a multi-car crash involving Christopher Bell, Shane van Gisbergen, and Ty Dillon. Although he managed to keep his #8 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 on the track, the collision inflicted substantial damage and hampered his performance throughout the remainder of the event.
“Our Chevrolet team worked hard today at Pocono Raceway to overcome obstacles. A speeding penalty on pit road put us behind at the end of Stage 1, then we ended up with heavy damage to our Chevy after spinning towards the end of Stage 2. We just lost the air racing in traffic.” —Kyle Busch, Driver
Busch now sits 19th in the Cup Series points standings this season, experiencing a winless streak. Despite this, he has achieved five top-ten finishes and one top-five finish in 17 starts, showing the persistence and competitiveness that have defined his career.
The Future of NASCAR and Busch’s Role in Its Evolution
Kyle Busch’s endorsement of diversity in both track selection and fan engagement reflects broader calls within NASCAR for innovation and expansion. By supporting new locations such as Mexico, Chicagoland, and San Diego, Busch is advocating for a more inclusive schedule that can energize the sport’s national and international appeal.
As NASCAR moves forward, changes to the Cup Series schedule may play a pivotal role in shaping the competition and broadening its fan base. Busch’s experience and insights highlight the potential benefits of these developments, positioning him as a key voice in NASCAR’s evolution.
