J.J. McCarthy's fiancée, Katya, shares a delightful glimpse of their baby shower celebration filled with joy and anticipation.

As Minnesota Vikings fans eagerly anticipate J.J. McCarthy’s first NFL play, his fiancée, Katya Kuropas, recently shared a special moment off the field. On Sunday, Kuropas revealed a glimpse of her baby shower through Instagram stories, giving followers a peek into the joyful event.

She reshared photos and videos taken by friends and family at the gathering, including an image of herself posing beside a friend with tiny baby onesies hanging as decoration. Another clip showed neatly wrapped gifts stacked in celebration.

Announcement of Their Son’s Arrival and Baby Shower Timing

The baby shower occurred just over a month after the couple announced they are expecting their first child. On May 22, McCarthy and Kuropas shared on Instagram that they are preparing to welcome their son in September.

“The best surprises come when you least expect them. Our sweet baby boy is arriving in September and we couldn’t be happier.”

The timing of their son’s arrival closely aligns with McCarthy’s upcoming NFL debut, adding meaningful excitement to the season ahead.

J.J. McCarthy’s Path to the NFL Starts as Fatherhood Approaches

McCarthy’s NFL journey has faced hurdles; last season, he sat out due to a meniscus injury sustained in the preseason, which sidelined him for his entire rookie year and allowed Sam Darnold to take the starting quarterback role. Now fully recovered, McCarthy is eager to prove himself on the field as the Vikings open their 2025 season on September 8 against the Chicago Bears.

“Overall I feel 110% because I feel better than when I got hurt eight months ago,” McCarthy shared with ESPN in April.

Meanwhile, Kuropas continues to update their followers with glimpses of her pregnancy, including a June 2 post captioned,

half of me + half of you.

McCarthy responded with a tender comment, calling her

the best mama in the world.

Although the Vikings have not officially named their Week 1 starting quarterback, many expect McCarthy to earn the position during training camp and the preseason. As he prepares for this pivotal professional milestone, he will be balancing the exciting new role of fatherhood as well.
