In the Gauff family residence in Delray Beach, excitement surrounds not only tennis star Coco Gauff but also her younger brother Codey, who is gaining recognition in baseball. Their mother, Candi Gauff, shares in the enthusiasm for both her children’s athletic pursuits.
Recently, Candi highlighted Codey’s growing status by resharing a graphic naming him a Top 2026 Prospect in the Country, reflecting his impressive displays with the East Coast Sox during the 17U Ultimate Baseball Championship. She expressed her pride with clapping emojis on social media.
Codey’s Standout Baseball Achievements
Codey Gauff’s performance at the 17U Ultimate Baseball Championship – East was exceptional, as he recorded a perfect 4-for-4 hitting streak including a single, double, triple, and an RBI. His talent as a switch-hitting catcher and outfielder has earned him a PG 9 grade from Perfect Game.
His athleticism is apparent through his 6.68-second 60-yard dash, and his strong arm velocity, with throws reaching 74 mph from both outfield and catcher positions. Offensively, he showed power with an 85 mph exit velocity at the plate.
In October, Codey committed to the University of Missouri, where he is set to begin his NCAA Division I baseball career in fall 2025.
Coco Gauff’s Visible Support for Her Brother’s Baseball Journey
Coco Gauff, the Grand Slam tennis champion, actively supports Codey’s baseball ambitions. During a WWBA showcase where Codey played for the San Diego Padres scout team, he hit a powerful home run. Coco shared a clip of this moment on her Instagram story with a lighthearted caption expressing her excitement.
Their mother, Candi, also acknowledged Codey’s accomplishment, reinforcing the family’s collective pride.
Speaking to Vogue, Coco emphasized the strong bond and mutual support among her brothers Codey and Cameron, stating,
“My brothers Codey and Cameron are definitely my biggest support… They always root for me. … When I do well, they’re still going to make fun of me. And when I do bad, they’re still going to make fun of me.”
This candid reflection underscores the close-knit relationship that contributes to their resilience both on and off the field.
Codey’s Advancement in Competitive Baseball Circuits
As Codey prepares to start his collegiate baseball career this upcoming fall, he continues to build on his exposure and experience through participation in elite events such as the WWBA and the DREAM Series. These opportunities have helped him rise in rankings, including on the Minority Baseball Prospects All-American list.
With strong performances at showcases and increasing recognition from scouts, Codey Gauff’s potential as a future professional baseball player is taking shape alongside his sister’s tennis stardom, making the Gauff household a hub of diverse sports talent.
