Nelly Korda Aims to Break Winless Streak at LPGA’s Upcoming Evian Championship
Nelly Korda gears up for a win at the LPGA Evian Championship, aiming to end her 2025 winless streak.

World number one golfer Nelly Korda is preparing to compete in the LPGA Evian Championship, held from July 10 to 13 at the Evian Resort Golf Club in France. After a challenging season marked by a winless streak, Korda is determined to regain her winning form in this significant Major event.

Korda’s Season Performance and Recent Preparations

Nelly Korda has shared updates from her practice rounds on Instagram ahead of the Evian Championship, signaling her readiness for the upcoming challenge. Although she has shown strong form at times, the 26-year-old has yet to secure a victory in 2025. Korda’s season began with promise, posting a runner-up finish at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions by shooting rounds of 71-67-67-65, finishing 18 under par and just two strokes behind champion A Lim Kim.

Following that, she secured a tie for seventh place at the Founders Cup. In March, Korda returned as the defending champion at the Ford Championship in Arizona but ended in a tie for 22nd with a total of 274 (–14). At the Chevron Championship and KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, she placed T14 and T19 respectively. She also finished as a runner-up in the US Open in May, marking her second second-place finish of the year.

Seeking to End the Winless Stretch at the Evian Championship

Over 10 starts this year, Korda has made every cut and earned four top-10 finishes, demonstrating consistent competitiveness despite not capturing a title. Last season’s remarkable achievements included seven wins, including a Major, setting high expectations. This year, she aims to rebuild momentum and claim victories in the remaining Majors on the LPGA Tour, with the Evian Championship being the next crucial opportunity.

The Evian Championship is the second-to-last Major of the season, drawing top golfers worldwide. Defending champion Ayaka Furue, who won the event last year ahead of Stephanie Kyriacou, will also compete. Korda’s best previous finish at the Evian was tied for eighth in 2022, while last year she finished tied for 26th. She is hopeful that this tournament will be the turning point to end her winless run and set a positive tone for the rest of the season.

With her skill and experience, Korda remains one of the LPGA Tour’s leading stars and will look to leverage her practice sessions and recent lessons to make a strong showing in France. Her performance at the Evian Championship could be pivotal in reigniting her campaign for major titles in 2025.
