Spencer Jones re-signs on Nuggets two-way contract, showcasing promise with impressive G League performance and strong shooting stats.

Restricted free agent forward Spencer Jones has re-signed with the Denver Nuggets on a new two-way contract, according to NBA.com’s transaction log, confirming his continuation with the team for the upcoming 2025/26 season. Sports reporter Michael Scotto of HoopsHype confirmed that Jones accepted Denver’s qualifying offer over the weekend, securing his spot on the roster.

Limited NBA Action but Strong G League Performance

Jones, who joined the Nuggets last July after going undrafted from Stanford, played only 20 games in his rookie NBA season, earning limited minutes. He averaged 1.3 points and 0.9 rebounds in about 6.3 minutes per game, shooting just 32.4% overall and struggling beyond the arc with 5.9%. While these numbers were modest, they don’t fully reflect his abilities.

In the G League with the Grand Rapids Gold, Jones stood out significantly. Over 21 games, he averaged 14.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, and nearly 2 assists per contest while playing over 30 minutes per game. His shooting improved drastically, with a 51.8% field goal rate and a 45.3% three-point percentage, highlighting his shooting talent.

College Success Reflects Potential for Growth

Jones’ shooting ability was well-demonstrated in college, where he finished as Stanford’s all-time leader in made three-pointers, with 315 during his career. His G League performance suggests his skill set could translate into a more significant role with Denver moving forward.

Two-Way Contracts and the Path Ahead

The Nuggets currently have two players on two-way contracts, with Jones joining new signee Tamar Bates. Both players can participate in up to 50 regular season games in 2025/26, offering Denver flexible depth options as they build their roster.
