This weekend, Nastasiya, the wife of Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin, shared highlights from her helicopter ride over Minger, Tatarstan, Russia, as part of her offseason travels. On Saturday, she posted a series of Instagram stories featuring the experience.
The first video offered sweeping views of the countryside, capturing expansive green fields, small clusters of houses, and winding roads from the helicopter cockpit. Nastasiya later shared a photo of herself inside the aircraft, smiling while wearing sunglasses and a headset, accompanied by two other passengers.
She also posted an image of a meal enjoyed during the outing. The dishes included salads, sliced vegetables, shrimp, and drinks arranged on a wooden patio table set alongside a well-kept lawn surrounded by tall trees.
Recent Travels Include Wedding in Marbella with Family
Earlier in the offseason, Nastasiya attended a wedding in Marbella, Spain, accompanied by her father Kirill Shubsky, a Russian film director. She shared photos and videos from the event, including a short clip with her father and a full-length photo where she wore a golden sequin gown and he was dressed in a black suit.
Nastasiya, a Russian model and daughter of actress Vera Glagoleva and Kirill Shubsky, met Alex Ovechkin at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The couple rekindled their relationship in 2015 and married in Moscow in August 2016. They have two sons, Sergei and Ilya.
Nastasiya Addresses Speculation About Ovechkin’s Future with the Capitals
Last month, Nastasiya appeared at the Moscow premiere of Buratino and the Golden Key and spoke in an interview about Alex Ovechkin’s plans. She confirmed that he intends to complete his current contract with the Washington Capitals and shared that the family aims to return to live in Russia once the season ends.
“We will play the next season, and then fly back to live in Moscow, to our homeland. We will stay in Russia, yes,” Nastasiya said.
“To be honest, I wanted him to score that goal sooner. He has his last season next year. And I want him to simply enjoy what he loves, to simply enjoy this last season,” she added.
There had been some confusion recently after a Washington Capitals email suggested this might be Ovechkin’s final NHL season; however, the team clarified that was not an official announcement.
Implications for Ovechkin’s Career and Family Life
Nastasiya’s comments provide insight into the family’s plans amid ongoing speculation about Ovechkin’s playing future. His determination to complete the season aligns with the couple’s intention to eventually settle back in Russia. This will likely conclude an important chapter in Ovechkin’s distinguished NHL career while allowing the family to reconnect with their roots in Moscow.
