Terance Mann, the former Los Angeles Clippers player, recently found himself the focus of a prank during a broadcast of Anthony Davis’s show, Foul Play. The incident unfolded with WNBA standout Cameron Brink playing a key role, leading to an unexpected and emotional reaction from Mann. This prank quickly gained attention for its mix of humor and genuine concern.
Cameron Brink Explains Her Role in the Elaborate Prank
On her podcast, Straight to Cam, Cameron Brink openly discussed her involvement in pulling the prank on Mann, revealing the story behind it. Brink expressed remorse for how the situation affected Mann, especially since he had been sincerely committed to supporting what he thought was a charitable cause. Mann was convinced he was helping to fund $90,000 worth of ACL rehabilitation for a young woman who had suffered injuries to both knees.
I felt so bad. For those of you who don’t know, I was on a prank show hosted by Anthony Davis. Terrence was our unlucky victim,
Brink shared, setting the stage for the prank’s setup.
The prank unfolded when Mann was handed a check supposedly intended for the injured girl. As Mann took hold of the check, the woman in the wheelchair lost balance and dramatically fell off the stage.
We were gonna hand Terance a check to give to the girl, and as he grabs the check, this girl is in a wheelchair, he lets go of the girl’s wheelchair and she goes flying off the stage. Catapulting off the stage,
Brink described the staged event that caught Mann completely off guard.

Mann’s Genuine Concern and the Prank’s Hidden Elements
Despite the shocking moment, it was later revealed the woman was a stunt double, healthy and unharmed. Mann acknowledged the convincing nature of the act with mixed feelings.
She was talking with a little soft voice. She played the role pretty good,
Mann commented, visibly unsettled while recounting the prank.
I just knew she went tumbling down. Two ACLs. It was crazy.
Mann’s reaction showed genuine empathy, reflecting his character amid what could have been a distressing joke. Brink also revealed that a portion of the prank was cut from the final broadcast, involving a joke about WNBA salaries to lighten the mood.
I made a joke. They cut this part out of the show. Remember when I was like, ‘I’m on a WNBA salary. I can’t cover 90 grand again,
Brink recalled. Despite the prank’s nature, Mann decided to donate the full $90,000 to the charity, underscoring his generosity. Brink praised him for this kindness, calling him a “sweetheart.”
Wage Disparities Between NBA and WNBA Remain a Stark Reality
The prank also highlighted ongoing issues surrounding pay inequality between professional men’s and women’s basketball. While the NBA continues to grow financially through new media deals and collective bargaining agreements, the WNBA is only beginning to see potential improvements in player salaries. With rising stars such as Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, and Paige Bueckers gaining attention, there is hope for greater financial growth in women’s basketball, but the wage gap remains a sensitive and urgent topic.
The contrast between Mann’s joking remark about his limited funds on a WNBA salary and his willingness to support ACL rehabilitation donations highlights the tension and disparity within professional basketball leagues. It serves as a reminder of the challenges female athletes still face despite increasing visibility and success.
