Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who has been with the team since they drafted him in 2018, has expanded his career beyond football by becoming an equity partner at New Era Cap. This new partnership, announced in 2024 following Allen’s MVP season, marks a unique step in merging his football success with Buffalo-themed apparel design.
Throughout his seven seasons in Buffalo, Allen has led the Bills to two AFC championship games, both losses to the Kansas City Chiefs. Nevertheless, his individual performance peaked last season when he was named the <a href="https://www.buzzineintl.com/category/football/nfl/”>NFL’s 2024 regular-season MVP, earning 27 of the 49 first-place votes and joining the ranks of Bills MVPs like O.J. Simpson and Thurman Thomas.
While Allen’s primary focus remains guiding Buffalo to a Super Bowl victory, off the field, he has embraced an influential role with New Era Cap, a partnership that dates back to his rookie year. On Wednesday, Allen officially became the first ambassador to gain equity ownership in the company and took on the title of Director of Billustration, reflecting his involvement in designing Bills merchandise.
Allen shared news of his new role on LinkedIn, expressing both gratitude for his football journey and excitement about his creative work with New Era. He wrote,
“Quarterback for the Buffalo Bills. Farm kid from Firebaugh who got a shot and ran with it. Buffalo believed in me, and I give everything I’ve got back to this team and this great city. I love this game. I love this team. I’m lucky to wear the jersey.”
Regarding his responsibilities at New Era, Allen added,
“Off the field, I’m the ‘Director of Billustration’ at New Era, which is a fancy way of saying I get to help design some Bills gear and have a little fun with it. That’s me. Football, family, Buffalo and a few sharp-looking caps.”
This partnership signals a significant development in athlete branding, combining Allen’s passion for football and Buffalo with creative input in merchandise that fans will wear. As Allen continues to chase postseason success, the collaboration with New Era offers a distinctive way to cement his legacy with both the city and the team’s identity.
