Graham Rahal celebrates Toronto IndyCar race, finishing P7 and raising $4,500 for charity, Turn For Troops.

Graham Rahal, driver for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, shared his thoughts on his recent performance at the Toronto IndyCar race, highlighting a strong day despite various challenges. The Indiana native acknowledged the difficulties faced during the event while emphasizing the progress made and the support garnered for his charity, Turn For Troops.

Rahal took to social media following the race to express his reflections and to reveal that $4,500 was raised through United Rentals Turns for Troops. He noted that his team employed effective strategy and that some luck was involved, which helped him secure a seventh-place finish. Although Rahal struggled with the car’s speed throughout the weekend, he was pleased with the overall outcome.

“United Rentals Turns for Troops raised $4,500 today. P7 finish for the United Rentals #15. Great job by our crew; really good strategy, got a little bit of luck too. But certainly had the pace. Obviously Pato was at a lightning at the restart and was able to work through the field. Just some of the things I couldn’t so just lost a little bit of distance to him. Overall a really solid day for us. We weren’t as fast as we needed to be, and we struggled with the car a lot this weekend. But we managed it, and we made it home, so we’ll take it. P7.”

Throughout the 2025 season, Rahal has demonstrated steady progress. At the season opener, the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on March 2, he qualified 21st and finished 12th. His performance at Iowa’s Synk 275 race was slightly better, securing 14th on the grid and finishing 11th.

He emphasized the importance of endurance and health in maintaining a consistent presence on the track, recounting that he has not missed a race since Edmonton in 2010, a streak of consecutive starts that speaks to his reliability as a driver.

“Success is measured in many different ways, and when you look at wins, maybe it’s not enough, but I’ve been fortunate to have a long career here. But hopefully there’s still a ways to go.”

—Graham Rahal, IndyCar driver

“Three hundred races—I think what I’m most fortunate about is to have been able to stay, knock on wood, pretty healthy through those times, and hopefully that will continue as well,”

—Graham Rahal, IndyCar driver

This milestone placed Rahal alongside esteemed drivers such as Scott Dixon, who celebrated his 410th start at the same event, along with Tony Kanaan, Helio Castroneves, and Mario Andretti, all notable for their longevity in the sport. Rahal currently holds 20th place in the drivers’ championship, with 193 points accumulated this season.

His reflections exhibit a determined and hopeful outlook as he continues to chase further success in upcoming races, balancing competitive ambition with the realities of managing equipment and conditions. Rahal’s charity efforts combined with his personal achievements add meaningful depth to his racing career as the season progresses.
