Logan Thompson Capitals Autograph Event Adds Surprise Guest Evgeny Kuznetsov in Prince Frederick
Excitement builds as Logan Thompson and Capitals team sign autographs at PFCJDR's annual appreciation event this Saturday.

The eleventh annual community appreciation event hosted by Prince Frederick Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM (PFCJDR) will take place this Saturday, featuring notable Washington Capitals players meeting fans. The highlight will be the Logan Thompson Capitals autograph event, where current players John Carlson and Logan Thompson, along with Capitals legend Al Iafrate, will sign autographs from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm at the Prince Frederick, Maryland dealership.

Evgeny Kuznetsov Surprises Fans by Joining Autograph Signing

Adding excitement to the event, former Capitals centerman and 2018 Stanley Cup champion Evgeny Kuznetsov was announced as a surprise guest on Tuesday afternoon. Now an unrestricted free agent, Kuznetsov returned this summer to the DC area after spending a season with SKA St. Petersburg in Russia. His recent appearance in a beer-league game at MedStar Capitals Iceplex sparked interest ahead of this weekend’s gathering.

Community Connection and Fan Engagement Highlight Event Goals

Dee Aud, comptroller and event coordinator at PFCJDR, expressed enthusiasm about the interaction between Capitals players and local fans.

“We love giving back to our amazing community and this is just one small way by bringing some of the Caps players for a meet and greet free autograph session,”

she said.

“It’s so exciting for us to see the faces of the fans as they get to have a one-on-one experience. Our commitment to our community is to exceed any expectation and provide an experience that can be remembered. Our reward for the day is knowing that we’ve reached out and hopefully put a smile in their heart to pay it forward.”

Additional Appearances and Event Details

Fans should also watch for Craig Laughlin, who will soon be inducted into the DC Sports Hall of Fame as part of the 2025 class. Over the years, PFCJDR’s community events have attracted prominent Capitals players including Nicklas Backstrom, Braden Holtby, TJ Oshie, Devante Smith-Pelly, and Connor McMichael.

“Much thanks go out to our extended family Monk Wells with AAG graphing who help make these visits possible,”

Dee Aud noted.

Access and Activities Planned for the Celebration

Wristbands for the autograph signing will be distributed starting at 9 am on the event day, with one wristband per person who must be present physically. Only the first 200 fans with wristbands will have the chance to get autographs. The signing guidelines specify,

“One autograph per person per player and ‘NO GAME USED ITEMS, ARTWORK, OR ROOKIE CARDS WILL BE SIGNED.’”

Beyond autographs, attendees can enjoy a silent auction hosted by Above Average Graphing, view the RAMINATOR Monster Truck, participate in HSCC dog adoption opportunities, and sample food from local vendors including ‘Mouth of the Bay’ and ‘Did Someone Say Funnel Cake?’

Event Significance and Community Impact

This annual event deepens the bond between the Washington Capitals organization and their supporters, while providing a unique setting for fans to engage with beloved players. With the surprise addition of Evgeny Kuznetsov and other special guests, the Logan Thompson Capitals autograph event promises to create memorable experiences that celebrate both the sport and the local community. Such events exemplify the team’s ongoing dedication to giving back and strengthening fan connections in the DC area.
