Stewart Friesen Disqualified from Third at IRP After Front Heights Inspection Failure

Stewart Friesen, who initially finished third in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series TSPORT 200 at Indianapolis Raceway Park on Friday, was disqualified after his truck failed the post-race technical inspection. The No. 52 Halmar International Toyota Tundra TRD, fielded by Halmar Friesen Racing, did not meet NASCAR’s front height regulations, as it measured too low during the evaluation.

Official Race Results Adjusted Following Disqualification

As a result of the inspection failure, Friesen’s finishing position was changed to last place, 35th, and he was awarded only one championship point. All drivers who had finished behind Friesen at race-end and in each stage were moved up one spot. Layne Riggs remains the official winner of the event, with Corey Day of Spire Motorsports achieving his best career finish in second place.

Corey Heim was elevated from fourth to third place, Grant Enfinger advanced to fourth, and Ty Majeski now holds fifth place. Chandler Smith, Daniel Hemric, Tyler Ankrum, Ross Chastain, and Rajah Caruth complete the adjusted top ten in the official race standings.

Impact on Stage 2 Standings and Playoff Positions

Friesen also lost credit for his original second-place finish in Stage 2. Ben Rhodes was moved up to second for that segment, followed by Grant Enfinger, Chandler Smith, Kaden Honeycutt, Ty Majeski, Corey Heim, Luke Fenhaus, Connor Mosack, and Jake Garcia rounding out the top ten scoring positions in the stage.

Although this disqualification affects Friesen’s final regular-season points, dropping him from tenth to thirteenth, it does not significantly alter the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Playoff picture, since Friesen had already qualified through his earlier victory at Michigan International Speedway.

Future Options for Friesen and Halmar Friesen Racing

Friesen and Halmar Friesen Racing retain the right to appeal the disqualification, but no information has been released about whether they intend to pursue that course. The outcome of the potential appeal could still influence his official record and points standing as the season progresses.
