Dak Prescott remains determined to lead the Dallas Cowboys to the Super Bowl, undeterred by his omission from ESPN’s top ten quarterbacks list for 2025. As the Cowboys begin a new chapter under head coach Brian Schottenheimer, Prescott returns from a hamstring injury with a clear goal: to win it all.
Prescott Maintains Focus Despite Rankings
ESPN’s list, which placed Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Joe Burrow among the top quarterbacks, left Prescott off entirely, causing a stir given his status as Dallas’s leader. However, Prescott brushed off the exclusion without distraction. Reflecting on his draft experience where he was the ninth quarterback chosen, he told ESPN’s Todd Archer,
“I don’t think I’ve ever really cared about a list.”
He added,
“The list changes with every person you ask. The list changes every year.”
Prescott’s sights are firmly set on one objective: winning the Super Bowl. Acknowledging that the Cowboys have not reached the championship game in three decades, he stated plainly,
“Have fun and win the Super Bowl. Period.”
He emphasized the shared ambition in the locker room, saying,
“I know that’s what everyone in this locker room wants. We have a head coach who I know is hungry for that. Win, win, win. That’s what’s on my mind.”
Looking Ahead to a Season of Redemption
Despite a hamstring injury cutting his 2024 campaign short, Prescott showed strong productivity in eight games, averaging 247.3 passing yards with a 64.7% completion rate and tallying 11 touchdowns, though he was sacked 21 times. Now entering his 10th NFL season, he is focused on proving his value and silencing critics.
Prescott’s commitment underscores the intensity inside the Cowboys organization as they aim to end their long Super Bowl drought. His determination suggests that no external ranking or opinion will shake his pursuit of excellence or interrupt Dallas’s push for NFL supremacy.
