CeeDee Lamb Reveals How George Pickens Boosts Dallas Cowboys Offense Ahead of 2025 Season
George Pickens boosts Dallas Cowboys offense, joining CeeDee Lamb in 2025; a potent duo Dak Prescott can rely on.

CeeDee Lamb expressed enthusiasm about George Pickens joining the Dallas Cowboys offense for the 2025 season, highlighting how the duo will create more opportunities for each other. Lamb emphasized Pickens’ high football IQ and how his understanding of the team’s strategy will strengthen the offense.

In his remarks, Lamb explained the dynamic that comes from their pairing, noting that when defenders focus doubled attention on him, the ball would likely go to Pickens, who then faces fewer defenders. He also praised Pickens’ ability to quickly grasp game plans and implement them during practices.

“When I have two guys on me, I can guarantee the ball is going to him. When two guys are on me, he’s one-on-one,” Lamb said on Wednesday.

“Do what you want with that info. It’s honestly fun. Just him understanding the process of taking what we do in meetings and taking it out in the field and it immediately click with him in walk-throughs, it’s kind of impressive. I like that because I’m that type of receiver too.”

George Pickens was acquired by the Cowboys from the Pittsburgh Steelers in May, along with a 2027 sixth-round pick, in exchange for a 2026 third-rounder and a 2027 fifth-rounder. This trade aims to strengthen Dallas’ wide receiver corps, pairing Pickens with Lamb to provide quarterback Dak Prescott multiple offensive weapons.

Facing strong competition within the NFC East from the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders, the Cowboys will rely on this upgraded receiving tandem to edge closer to winning the division.

How George Pickens Could Elevate Dallas’ Playoff Chances

Selected by Pittsburgh in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, George Pickens had a productive season with the Steelers despite changing quarterbacks. He recorded 59 receptions for 900 yards and three touchdowns while working with Justin Fields and Russell Wilson, who both faced injury challenges.

Now standing alongside Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, Pickens is expected to provide a critical offensive boost as Dallas aims to return to the playoffs for the first time since 2023. His presence on the field should relieve some of the pressure on Lamb, forcing defenses to cover multiple threats.

The Cowboys open their 2025 regular season against the Eagles on September 4, a matchup that will test how effectively Dallas can integrate Pickens into their offensive scheme.

With Lamb’s confidence in Pickens’ game awareness and skill set, the Dallas Cowboys offense appears well-positioned to challenge defenses and mount a strong push in the coming NFL season.
