The Kyle Larson Foundation has committed its annual event grant to the SherryStrong Foundation as a tribute to Sherry Pollex’s impactful legacy. This donation coincides with the renewed collaboration between Catwalk for Causes and Larson’s foundation, reinforcing their shared dedication to supporting children’s health initiatives.
Sherry Pollex, who was a two-time cancer survivor and the longtime partner of former NASCAR Cup Series champion Martin Truex Jr., founded Catwalk for Causes. This fashion gala features children facing health challenges walking the runway alongside celebrity athletes, having raised over $5 million since its inception in 2009. Pollex passed away in 2023, but her vision lives on through these efforts.
Kyle Larson, a Hendrick Motorsports driver, has actively participated in previous Catwalk for Causes events, joining his wife, Katelyn, on the runway. With this year’s event scheduled for September 16, Larson announced a major contribution to the SherryStrong Foundation to extend Pollex’s mission.
“Katelyn and I have always enjoyed participating in Catwalk for a Cause. It is one of our favourite nights and such a privilege to walk the runway with the most amazing kids. To honor the heart and soul behind catwalk, The Kyle Larson Foundation will donate it’s grant to Sherrystrong, to further carry on the vision and legacy of Sherry(Pollex),”

The event will also be supported by Kyle and Samantha Busch’s Bundle of Joy Fund and is organized by Speedway Children’s Charities, boosting the resources available to children in need.
Kyle Larson’s Reflections on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Defeat
Kyle Larson looked back on his recent loss at the Brickyard 400 to Bubba Wallace, explaining that the inside lane advantage Wallace held made passing nearly impossible. Larson acknowledged that there was little he could have done differently to change the outcome.

“There’s nothing you can do here (at Indianapolis Motor Speedway) to pass, so no, I don’t really think there was anything I could do differently….On the second restart, he brought the pace down a little bit slower, so I needed to be first gear. It was kind of the same thing with me last year – he had the preferred lane on the inside and it’s really hard to beat that,”

During the race, Larson started outside the top 10 and stayed on track through Stage 2 pit stops to keep his position. Even with Wallace maintaining the lead through challenging fuel calculations and multiple overtime restarts, Larson secured a strong points finish.
This outcome earned Larson 47 points, his best tally since winning at Kansas Speedway, and placed him 15 points behind the current season leader and teammate Chase Elliott, keeping him firmly in championship contention.
Upcoming Race and Continued Commitment to Charitable Causes
Kyle Larson is set to return to Iowa Speedway on Sunday, August 3, aiming to improve on last year’s pole position and finish. The race will be televised on USA Network and HBO Max at 3:30 PM ET, offering fans the chance to follow Larson’s pursuit of victory.
The Kyle Larson Foundation’s ongoing contributions, including this latest grant to SherryStrong, underscore Larson’s passion for making a positive difference beyond racing. By supporting causes that uplift children facing health battles, Larson and his partners exhibit dedication that extends well beyond the track, promising lasting impact for the families involved.
