Former Michigan QB Compares Bryce Underwood to Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields, Says “Sky Is the Limit”
Jack Tuttle compares five-star QB to Trevor Lawrence, praising elite throwing talent, potential, and limitless future in football.

Jack Tuttle, a former Michigan quarterback with extensive experience playing football at high levels, recently shared his optimistic view of Bryce Underwood’s abilities. Known for competing in the same high school class as Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence, Tuttle has closely observed some of college football’s most talented quarterbacks. He noted Underwood’s promising future during a recent conversation with sports journalist Isaiah Hole, emphasizing the young player’s impressive skills and growth.

Comparing Underwood to Elite Quarterbacks

Tuttle praised Underwood’s throwing accuracy and overall talent, suggesting the quarterback could rise to the top tier of recent Michigan players, including Justin Fields, Michale Penix, and JJ McCarthy. Tuttle expressed confidence that Underwood might even surpass his accomplished contemporaries due to his elite throwing capabilities. Considering Tuttle’s firsthand experience with these athletes in practice and game situations, his perspective holds weight in evaluating Underwood’s potential trajectory.

Coaching Strategy Could Influence Underwood’s Development

According to Tuttle, the coaching staff is fully committed to maximizing Underwood’s chances of success. He stated,

“The sky is the limit with him, and I know that the coaches are going to do whatever it takes to win. So, if that means throwing the ball 40 times a game to win, the ball’s gonna be thrown 40 times a game to win, which is just gonna increase his season stat line. And maybe they’re better at running the ball this year, so we’re just gonna have to see and what kind of strategy that offense kinda takes on each game.”

This flexible game plan suggests that Underwood’s involvement in the offense could expand significantly, allowing him to showcase his skills and gain valuable in-game experience.

Physical Tools and Future Outlook in the Big Ten

Underwood’s physical attributes position him well for competition in the Big Ten Conference. If his development continues at its current pace, he could become a standout talent. As Tuttle indicated, there is considerable room for growth, which makes Underwood a player to watch as Michigan’s season unfolds. His promising future reflects a blend of skill, coaching support, and opportunity that could mark the beginning of a notable collegiate career.
