Travis Kelce's family mourns personal loss as father Ed Kelce grieves the passing of his partner, Maureen Maguire.

Ed Kelce, father of NFL stars Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce, is mourning the loss of his longtime partner, Maureen Maguire, who peacefully passed away on August 1, 2025, at the age of 74. This personal loss deeply affects the Kelce family as they remember Maureen’s enduring kindness and presence.

Born on November 21, 1950, in the Bronx, New York City, Maureen spent much of her life near Philadelphia, where she built strong roots and connections. She announced her passing through Ed Kelce’s Facebook page, bringing the family’s sorrow to public attention.

Maureen Maguire’s life devoted to family, education, and joy

Maureen graduated from Archbishop Prendergast High School in 1968 before earning a degree in education from West Chester University in 1972. She began her career as an elementary school teacher, where she was known for her warmth and creativity in nurturing young students.

After marrying Daniel J. Maguire, Jr., she dedicated herself to raising their three children—Chuck, Courtney, and Patrick—with great love. Maureen was also a proud grandmother to six grandchildren and cherished her siblings, Loretta O’Brien and John Bullock.

Preceded in death by her husband Daniel, her parents Howard and Cecilia Bullock, and her younger brother Howie, Maureen spent her recent years enjoying football, often sharing joyful moments with Ed Kelce and their dog, Butch. Together, they traveled, attended games and concerts, and savored life’s simple pleasures.

Honoring Maureen’s memory with a funeral and heartfelt tributes

Maureen’s funeral service will be held on August 7 at St. John Vianney Church in Gladwyne, Pennsylvania, inviting those who knew her to pay their respects. In honor of causes meaningful to Maureen, the family requests donations be made to the Penn Heart Transplant Fund instead of flowers.

Her light-hearted spirit was reflected in moments like her playful exchange with Taylor Swift during a Chiefs game, where she joked,

Hey, that’s my boyfriend,

while posing with Ed Kelce. Ed also shared a fond memory of Maureen teasing him about forgetting Swift’s name:

You don’t know her? That’s Taylor Swift, you idiot.

Ed Kelce’s family background and his relationship with Donna Kelce

Ed Kelce and Donna Kelce were married for 25 years, beginning in the late 1970s. Together, they raised their sons, Jason (born 1987) and Travis (born 1989). The couple parted ways quietly after both sons finished college but have maintained a respectful and cooperative co-parenting relationship for their boys’ well-being.

Their sons, former Eagles center Jason Kelce and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, have both reached impressive careers in the NFL, with their family support remaining an important foundation in their lives.

Reflecting on the Kelce family’s resilience amid personal loss

The passing of Maureen Maguire marks a significant moment for the Kelce family, especially for Ed Kelce, who shared many cherished years with her. Her contributions to education, her dedication to family, and her joyful companionship with Ed will be fondly remembered.

As the family mourns, they also honor Maureen’s legacy of love and kindness, which continues to inspire those around them. The upcoming funeral and tributes demonstrate how deeply she was valued and the lasting impact of her presence in the Kelce family’s life.
