Collin Morikawa teams up with new caddie Mark Urbanek for FedEx St. Jude Championship, aiming to regain form.

Collin Morikawa will begin the 2025 FedEx St. Jude Championship with a new caddie, marking the fifth change of the PGA TOUR season. The event takes place this week at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tennessee, and Morikawa has chosen Mark Urbanek, previously the longtime caddie for Tony Finau, to join his team.

Background on Morikawa’s Caddie Changes This Season

Since parting ways with JJ Jakovac in April — the only caddie Morikawa had during his professional career — the golfer has been searching for a long-term partner on the bag. In the interim, he has worked with several seasoned caddies, including Joe Greiner and Billy Foster, as well as college teammate KK Limbhasut. Urbanek’s arrival continues this search for stability ahead of important upcoming tournaments.

Urbanek and Finau’s Recent Split and Current Roles

Mark Urbanek and Tony Finau parted ways after The Open Championship last month, ending their collaboration that began in 2020. Finau now has Tim Tucker as his caddie for this week’s Memphis event, while Urbanek starts his new role alongside Morikawa.

Morikawa’s Recent Performance and Outlook for the Season

Morikawa enters the FedEx St. Jude Championship following two missed cuts at the Genesis Scottish Open and The Open Championship. After a strong start to the season, his form has tapered in the latter half. Currently ranked 19th in the FedExCup standings at the start of the postseason, Morikawa hopes to use the Playoffs as a platform to regain momentum ahead of the Ryder Cup and the 2026 PGA TOUR season.

Morikawa’s decision to bring Urbanek on board represents a key effort to stabilize his team and refine his performance as he prepares for the challenges ahead.
