Stecher entered the NHL as an undrafted player, signing with the Vancouver Canucks. Making his debut in 2016, he became the first player born in Richmond to represent the club. Throughout his career, he has appeared in over 560 NHL games, representing the Canucks as well as the Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings, Arizona Coyotes, Calgary Flames, and currently, the Edmonton Oilers.
At 31 years old, Stecher has tallied 117 points, which include 22 goals and 95 assists. His record also shows a minus-23 rating, 252 penalty minutes, and 709 shots on goal, with an average ice time of 17 minutes and 27 seconds per game.
