Will Brown has secured a call-up to race in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, set to compete at the Portland event later this month. The Australian driver, known for his success in Supercars, will join Kaulig Racing behind the wheel of an Xfinity-spec Chevrolet Camaro for the upcoming race in the United States.
Background and Recent NASCAR Appearances
Brown recently made his second NASCAR Cup Series start at the Chicago street race, although his run ended early on lap 3. For the Portland race, Brown will once again represent Kaulig Racing, continuing the partnership established in his earlier NASCAR endeavors this year. This opportunity follows Kaulig Racing’s decision to part ways with driver Josh Williams, opening the door for Brown’s Xfinity Series entry.
Competition and Racing Context
At Portland, Brown will compete against familiar faces, including former co-driver Jack Perkins, who is scheduled to drive a Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing. Meanwhile, Kaulig teammates have been rotating through the car Brown will pilot, with Cup Series drivers Carson Hocevar and Michael McDowell recently taking turns racing it at Iowa and Watkins Glen, respectively.
Current Supercars Standing and Future Plans
Outside of NASCAR, Brown is excelling in his primary series with Triple Eight Race Engineering, currently holding second place in the Supercars championship as he prepares for the Century Batteries Ipswich Super 440. His crossover into NASCAR demonstrates his growing versatility and ambition to expand his racing career internationally.
