Jordan Love’s $83M NFL Earnings Surpass Josh Allen, Shaking Up Top Quarterback Pay Rankings
Jordan Love's 2025 earnings outshined NFL MVPs, beating Josh Allen and major sports icons like Hamilton and Neymar.

Jordan Love demonstrated his potential as a leading NFL quarterback once given the opportunity, which came after Aaron Rodgers departed Green Bay. In his first season as the starting quarterback, Love performed well enough for the Packers to reward him with a massive $220 million contract extension, featuring $55 million annually, a $75 million signing bonus, and $155 million in guaranteed money.

On-Field Performance Falters but Earnings Soar in Second Season

Despite the lucrative deal, Love’s second year presented challenges, with his accuracy and decision-making drawing criticism. While the Packers maintained a strong regular-season record, their playoff ambitions were cut short by an early first-round exit. Off the field, however, Love’s financial success continued to grow, driven by his contract earnings and various endorsement deals.

Jordan Love’s Earnings Outpace Many Top Athletes in 2025

According to Forbes, Love earned $83 million in 2025, combining $79 million from his NFL contract with $4 million through endorsements and other ventures. This surpassed the earnings of reigning NFL MVP Josh Allen, who made $66.1 million, including $60.1 million from playing and $6 million from endorsements. Love’s total also exceeded incomes of major global sports figures such as Lewis Hamilton ($80 million), Max Verstappen ($78 million), Neymar ($76 million), Damian Lillard ($67.5 million), and Tiger Woods ($55.4 million), whose earnings primarily came from endorsements.

Comparing Love’s Financial Ranking Among NFL Quarterbacks

Within the NFL, only a few players earned more than Love last year. Patrick Mahomes earned $86.8 million, while Deshaun Watson secured $91.8 million despite playing just 19 games over three years, due to a fully guaranteed $230 million contract. The top earner was Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, who banked an extraordinary $137 million following a $240 million extension.

What Lies Ahead for Jordan Love and the Packers

With his financial security ensured and a skilled team supporting him, including a promising first-round wide receiver addition, Jordan Love faces the critical task of improving his on-field performance. Unlike Rodgers, Love now has an opportunity to lead the Packers toward deeper playoff runs, with a NFC Championship appearance viewed as an attainable goal.

“Jordan Love always had the potential to become one of the NFL’s top quarterbacks; he just needed the chance.” —Aaron Rodgers, Former Packers Quarterback
