PGA Tour Suspended Wesley Bryan Falls Short in Intense Pebble Beach Match with Grant Horvat
Suspended PGA Tour pro Wesley Bryan joined a thrilling golf showdown at Pebble Beach with YouTuber Grant Horvat.

Wesley Bryan, the PGA Tour suspended golfer, competed against YouTube personality Grant Horvat and his brother George Bryan in a competitive match at Pebble Beach Golf Links, California. The trio played a nine-hole 1v1v1 game on “The Hay,” a short course designed by Tiger Woods through TGR Designs, as part of their ongoing Major Cut series.

The match took place as a prelude to the Major Cut: U.S. Open edition event at Pebble Beach, with the players aiming to determine a winner among themselves in this unique format. Despite Bryan’s efforts, Horvat secured the win, while Bryan struggled throughout the round on the challenging course.

Highlights from the Competitive Showdown on The Hay Short Course

The competition was marked by intense moments and a fluctuating dynamic, where Grant Horvat, focused on defeating Bryan, overcame his own difficulties with technique as the game progressed. The trio got a strong start but Bryan’s difficulties increased, resulting in a final score that left him behind his opponents.

Grant Horvat finished the nine-hole challenge with a 3-under par, while George Bryan achieved a 1-under par score. Wesley Bryan concluded the match with a 2-over par, placing last in the friendly yet high-stakes contest.

Pebble Beach Resorts also announced a giveaway in partnership with the YouTubers, promoting further engagement around the event. The host explained the setup ahead of the U.S. Open edition:

Wesley Bryan’s Recent Appearances and Competitive Status

Wesley Bryan was last active in competition at the LIV Duels event held in the United Kingdom this past July. His PGA Tour membership was revoked after participating in the LIV Duels in Miami, which led him to become a regular participant in the creator-focused events organized by the Saudi-backed LIV Golf series.

The LIV Duels feature teams comprised of a LIV golfer alongside a creator, blending professional athletes with content creators. This series began in Miami and was subsequently held in Virginia, Dallas, and the United Kingdom.

Looking forward, Bryan is scheduled to compete in the Final Duels event at LIV Golf Chicago, hosted at Bolingbrook Golf Club in Illinois. Notably, Bryan previously claimed victory at the LIV Duels in Virginia, partnering with Jon Rahm.

Outside of LIV Golf events, Bryan’s recent appearances include competing at the BMW International Open on the DP World Tour as well as the Puerto Rico Open on the traditional PGA Tour circuit.

Implications of Bryan’s Performance and Future Participation

Wesley Bryan’s appearance on The Hay course at Pebble Beach highlights his ongoing efforts to stay engaged in competitive golf despite his suspension from the PGA Tour. His presence in creator-centric formats and LIV Golf events demonstrates a pivot toward alternative golf opportunities amid uncertainty about his future on the PGA Tour.

The match also underscored the rising influence of digital creators in the golf community, with Grant Horvat’s victory signifying the growing competitiveness among these players. As Bryan prepares for upcoming LIV Golf events, the outcome at Pebble Beach may serve as an indicator of his current form and adaptability in evolving golf environments.
