SNOQUALMIE, Wash. — Australian golfer Steve Allan captured the Boeing Classic title on Sunday, marking his third PGA TOUR Champions win of the season. He closed the tournament with a clutch birdie on the 18th hole at The Club at Snoqualmie Ridge, finishing one stroke ahead of Stewart Cink at 15-under-par.
After starting the final round four shots back, Allan posted the day’s lowest score of 65 to surge ahead. His decisive 5-foot putt on the par-5 18th secured the victory while Cink, who began the hole one stroke behind, struggled with a bunker shot and settled for par, ending with a 70 and the runner-up position at 14-under.
Highlights of Allan’s Performance and Season Success
At 51 years old, Allan’s triumph extends an impressive 2025 season that included wins at the Galleri Classic in California’s desert region in March and the DICK’S Open in Endicott, New York, last month. This victory makes him one of only three players to secure three wins this season on the PGA TOUR Champions, alongside Miguel Angel Jiménez and Ángel Cabrera.
His final total of 201 is a testament to consistency and resilience, doubling as his fifth round of 65 on the circuit and matching his second-best 18-hole score in 116 PGA TOUR Champions rounds. Allan’s best round to date this season remains a 63, achieved during the first round of the DICK’S Open.

This event marked Allan’s second appearance at the Boeing Classic, having previously finished tied for 44th in 2024. His third victory also contributes to the tally of 39 PGA TOUR Champions wins by Australian players, a list led by Bruce Crampton with 20 wins, followed by Graham Marsh with six, David Graham with five, and Allan now with three.
Notable Competitors and Standout Performances at Boeing Classic
Stewart Cink held the lead after 36 holes and entered the final round positioned to win but settled for the runner-up spot after shooting a 70. This marked Cink’s third consecutive top-three finish, including third place at the Kaulig Companies Championship and second at the U.S. Senior Open, which helped him rise to No. 2 in the Charles Schwab Cup standings from No. 4.
Ernie Els and Darren Clarke tied for third place at 13-under, both recording 66 on the final day. Els, a World Golf Hall of Fame member, claimed his ninth top-10 finish in 17 starts this season, while Clarke notched his fourth top-10 finish in 15 events.
Other noteworthy players included Alex Cejka at 12-under after a 67 and local favorite Fred Couples, who ended tied for 47th at 1-over-par. Couples, 65, made only his seventh senior start of the year and played with hometown support from Seattle.
Meanwhile, two-time defending champion Stephen Ames and 2022 winner Miguel Angel Jiménez each finished tied for 14th at 7-under. Jiménez continued to lead the Charles Schwab Cup standings, holding the top spot for the 15th of the 18 weeks this season.
Some incidents affected the leaderboard as well—Greg Chalmers was disqualified in the final round for using a non-conforming club, and Fred Funk withdrew during play.
Impact on Season Standings and What to Watch Moving Forward
With his Boeing Classic triumph, Steve Allan moved up one position to seventh in the Charles Schwab Cup rankings, strengthening his position among the season’s top contenders. His ability to rally from four strokes behind mirrors the largest final-round comeback of 2025 on the Champions Tour, a feat previously accomplished by Steven Alker at the Cologuard Classic.
Allan’s impressive surge highlights the competitive intensity of the 2025 PGA TOUR Champions season, with multiple players — such as Jiménez, Cabrera, and Cink — consistently contending for titles. As the season progresses, Allan’s strong form and resilience position him as a leading figure to watch, while the battle for the Charles Schwab Cup remains highly contested.
