Ed Kelce, father of NFL player Travis Kelce, shared his reaction to Taylor Swift’s unexpected announcement of her new album during the latest episode of the New Heights podcast, co-hosted by the Kelce brothers. This episode marks Swift’s first guest appearance, with the full episode set to debut on Wednesday, where she revealed her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.
In an interview with Today on Tuesday, Ed Kelce admitted he was unaware of the announcement beforehand.
“I knew nothing about this announcement. I knew at some point the boys wanted to get her on the podcast, I didn’t know when it was coming up, though,” Ed said.
He added insight into Swift’s work ethic and progress on the new album since concluding her recent tour.
“I know Taylor’s been working pretty hard since she stopped the tour, she’s taken a few breaks to watch some football games, but she’s been out in LA working on this album. And my guess is, although I haven’t heard anything, my guess is it’s going to be like everything else she does – it’s going to be beautiful,” he added.
No official release date for the album has been shared yet, although vinyl copies are available for preorder at approximately $30 through Swift’s website. This announcement follows her acquisition of the master recordings for six of her albums earlier this year in May.
