Dolphins edge rusher Chop Robinson avoided a serious setback after being carted off the field during Wednesday’s joint practice with the Detroit Lions, returning to practice on Thursday. The injury was assessed as minor, allowing Robinson to participate in the second day of practice with his team.
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel addressed the situation before Thursday’s session, stating,
“Any time a player is down, the best-case scenario could possibly be they could participate in practice without risk of further injury,”
as reported by Alain Poupart of SI.com. McDaniel explained,
“It was a rib hit that we we had to make sure we were responsible and didn’t have any fractures or anything like that. He’s definitely sore, but he’ll be practicing today.”
Tyreek Hill’s Oblique Injury Limits Participation
While Robinson’s status improved, the Tyreek Hill oblique injury update remains a concern. Hill had initially been expected to practice on Wednesday, but he ended up taking part in limited activity and did not attend the practice on Thursday. Coach McDaniel said the decision aimed to prevent worsening the injury ahead of the team’s upcoming preseason game in Detroit.
The continued caution surrounding Hill’s recovery means his full return to action will likely be postponed until after the preseason matchup, reflecting the team‘s careful management of the wide receiver’s health.
