Coca-Cola partners with PGA TOUR for HBCU Golf Grant, boosting funding, inclusivity for diverse student-athletes' programs.
The PGA TOUR and The Coca-Cola Company have announced the launch of the HBCUGolf Impact Grant program, a partnership aimed at strengthening golf programs at historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs). Unveiled during the TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, this initiative brings a $250,000 investment to enhance opportunities for HBCU student-athletes in golf.
This PGA TOURHBCU Golf Grant is designed to provide essential financial support aligned with Coca-Cola’s “The World is My Yard” platform, which celebrates the heritage and culture of HBCUs. The funding will empower partnerschools to create better conditions and resources for both men’s and women’s golf teams.
Funding to Foster Growth and Facilities Improvements at Participating Institutions
The grant allocation includes $15,000 for each of the 11 golf programs across seven participating HBCUschools. These funds can be applied toward a range of needs such as renovations to golf courses and practice areas, upgrades to training facilities, tournament entry fees, travel costs, and equipment purchases including clubs and apparel. By addressing these critical components, the grant aims to enhance the student-athlete experience and support skill development on campus.
Stephanie Eaddy, cultural marketing lead for Coca-ColaNorth America, explained the motivation behind the grant.

she said.

Part of a Larger PGA TOUR Effort to Increase Diversity in Golf
This collaboration complements the PGA TOUR’s Pathway to Progression initiative, which is focused on identifying and nurturing talented junior and collegiate golfers from historically underrepresented backgrounds. The infusion of funding through this grant supports the TOUR’s long-term goals of expanding access and growing the game within diverse communities nationwide.
Kenyatta Ramsey, PGA TOUR Vice President of Player Development, emphasized the importance of Coca-Cola’s support.
“The PGA TOUR and our Pathway to Progression program appreciate Coca-Cola’s incredible contribution to these HBCU golf teams,”
Ramsey noted.
“These grants will make an immediate impact in further growing our game across underrepresented communities nationwide. We are grateful for Coke’s continued support in this long-term goal of the PGA TOUR.”
Opportunity for Additional Funding Through Competitive Selection
Beyond the initial grant distribution, HBCU golf programs affiliated with Coca-Cola’s “The World is My Yard” initiative may apply for further funding through a formal selection process. A committee comprising representatives from both the PGA TOUR and Coca-Cola will review applications and allocate an additional $85,000 to this year’s top-performing programs.
The first recipients of this supplementary funding include Alabama A&M University, Tennessee State University, and Texas Southern University, each receiving extra grant money to expand their golf program capabilities.
Significance of the Grant on Future Student-Athlete Opportunities
The launch of the PGA TOURHBCU Golf Grant signals a committed effort from both Coca-Cola and the PGA TOUR to invest in the growth and sustainability of golf programs at HBCUs. By enhancing training environments, supporting travel and competition expenses, and improving resources for athletes, this initiative aims to create a lasting positive impact on student-athletes and increase inclusivity in the sport.
As these institutions receive funding and support, the future looks promising for more diverse participation and elevated competition within collegiate golf. The collaboration sets a meaningful example for corporate and sports organizations seeking to contribute to social progress and athletic development.
