Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre and England’s Tyrrell Hatton earned crucial positions on Team Europe’s Ryder Cup roster following their recent weekend performances. MacIntyre improved his standing to second on the European Ryder Cup points list, just behind Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy, after finishing second at the BMW Championship. Hatton retained his fifth-place rank after tying for 32nd at the LIV event in Indianapolis.

Current Team Europe Roster and Remaining Qualification Spot

Alongside MacIntyre and Hatton, Rory McIlroy, England’s Tommy Fleetwood, and England’s Justin Rose have all secured automatic qualification for Team Europe, led by captain Luke Donald, as they prepare to defend their title from September 26 to 28 at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, N.Y. One remaining automatic qualification spot is still unclaimed, contested between Ireland’s Shane Lowry and Denmark’s Rasmus Hojgaard.

Hojgaard’s final chance to earn Ryder Cup points comes this week at the British Masters. If he finishes tied for 29th or better, he will surpass Lowry, who has no remaining opportunities to gain points, to claim the last spot.

Team USA’s Automatic Qualifiers and Captain’s Picks Awaited

Meanwhile, Team USA has completed its six automatic qualifiers. Scottie Scheffler, J.J. Spaun, and Xander Schauffele had secured their places before the weekend, while Russell Henley, Harris English, and Bryson DeChambeau clinched their spots last Sunday. Both Team Europe’s Luke Donald and Team USA captain Keegan Bradley are expected to announce six captain’s picks next week to finalize their squads.
