Kyle Busch Stands Firm on NASCAR Diet Decision, Declines Vegan Switch Despite Major Incentive

In 2018, Kyle Busch, a two-time Cup Series champion, was asked by NASCAR analyst Jeff Gluck whether he would adopt a vegan diet in exchange for the coveted number one pit stall. NASCAR had offered this incentive to promote health and wellness during the Cup Series season. Despite the opportunity, Busch declined the offer, stating he would only consider it if the commitment lasted longer than one week.

When Gluck pressed further on whether Busch would do it for just one race, the Las Vegas native was firm in his decision. He explained that the number one pit box had never significantly influenced his race wins, so he was unwilling to make the switch for that benefit alone.

Kyle Busch’s Career Achievements Highlight His Established Success

Throughout his 22 years in the Cup Series, Busch has built an impressive record with 63 wins, 253 top-five finishes, 389 top-10 finishes, and 33 pole positions in 739 starts. He has also seen significant success in the Xfinity Series, capturing 102 wins, 267 top-10 finishes, and 70 pole positions. Busch’s longstanding accomplishments demonstrate that his racing strategy, including his diet choices, align with what has worked for him over the years.

Busch Welcomes Variety in NASCAR Schedule, Citing Benefits to Fan Engagement

In June 2025, ahead of the EchoPark race, Kyle Busch shared his thoughts on NASCAR’s efforts to revamp the Cup Series schedule with Frontstretch Media. With over two decades of experience, Busch expressed support for the inclusion of new tracks, highlighting that adding variety brings diversity to the fan base and racing experience.

Busch remarked on the concentration of races within certain regions, explaining that running multiple circuits in close proximity tends to attract the same audience repeatedly. He welcomed expansions into new venues, such as races in Mexico, which introduce NASCAR to fresh audiences.

Busch also expressed enthusiasm about the possibility of racing at tracks like Chicagoland and San Diego, emphasizing how these venues have helped the sport reach new fans. His comments reflected a genuine hope for continued growth and variety in the NASCAR circuit.

Current Season Performance and Playoff Prospects

As of now, Busch holds the 16th position in the Cup Series points standings with 537 points. This season, he has earned seven top-10 finishes and two top-five results in 25 starts. However, he has yet to secure a victory, leaving his qualification for the playoffs uncertain. Busch’s consistent performance keeps him competitive, though a win remains crucial for advancing further in the championship race.
